Easter egg - a traditional form of folk art is a celebration of life, a symbol of rebirth and the beginning of a new period.
I have been painting Easter eggs since I was 7 years old.
For the last 15 years, I have been engaged in pysanky art as one of the formats of individual artistic activity.
My Easter eggs are created using the classic wax-resist method with the use of vinegar etching technique.
Every year, this tradition consumes me for several weeks. Working with the idea of reinterpreting tradition, my focus is directed towards individual creativity. However, I have never wanted to go against tradition. Experiments with color and composition are based on the experience and direct contact (research/study) of folk art. The main idea for me is the development and interpretation of forms based on traditional ones.

In my work, I approach pysanky art as a process of the continuity of life and tradition as part of national and cultural self-identification.
This is a personal project that lasts for years and despite any life events, both personal and of a global nature.
This is especially true for emotionally critical periods for individuals - such as the beginning of the war in Ukraine in 2014, the period of quarantine, or the full-scale invasion in 2022.
