EASTER EGGS 2021

Easter egg - a traditional form of folk art is a celebration of life, a symbol of renewal and the beginning of a new period.
I have been painting Easter eggs since I was 7 years old.
For the last 15 years, I have been engaged in pysanky art as one of the formats of individual artistic activity. My pysanky are created using the classic technique of writing with wax and a stylus, incorporating the vinegar etching method.
Every year, this tradition engulfs me for several weeks. Working with the idea of reinterpreting tradition, my focus is directed towards individual creativity. However, I have never wanted to go against tradition. Experiments with color and composition are based on experience and direct contact (research/study) of folk art. The main idea for me is the development and interpretation of forms based on traditional ones.

In my work, I approach pysanky art as a process of continuity of life and tradition as part of national and cultural self-identification.
This is a personal project that has been ongoing for years, despite any life events of a personal or global nature.
